Aerotek EMC/RF Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

The EMC product development team is looking to hire engineers to join their team. The engineers are not responsible for module level development, but to support design of electrical products and subsystems with respect to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).


  • Work directly with Ford suppliers to conduct technical design reviews, develop EMC test plans and monitor execution of EMC validation testing.

  • Work closely with Ford electronics product development teams, as well as EMC vehicle application teams to assure robust system design.

  • Provide EMC technical support to vehicle programs and product design teams.

  • Work with suppliers to review upfront design proposals and system tradeoffs to ensure EMC requirements are met.

  • Develop product specific EMC requirements.

  • Conduct EMC design reviews of electronic products with emphasis on robust circuit design/layout in addition its associated vehicle wiring/packaging. Make use of CAE (e.g. SABER, CST) tools to support assessment.

  • Review and approve component EMC test plans.

  • Review component test data and provide risk assessment.

  • Support vehicle engineers to resolve issues related to components.

  • Monitor performance of Ford approved test laboratories.


  • BS in Electrical Engineering required

  • Minimum strong, related co-op experience required

  • Experience in electronic product development with respect to EMC. Examples of relevant components include wireless communication modules, clusters, displays, etc.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to navigate through working teams across multiple departments

  • Ability to work with large cross functional teams under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads


  • MS in Electrical Engineering

  • 2-3 years experience

  • Experience with RF based equipment: spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers.
